One measure at a time, the way a request is filed. The only box the arithmetic needs is the quantity the law computes on. Everything else is optional, and a box left empty is read as not yet known rather than as a zero.

The Order the Arithmetic Runs In

The law does not add its rules up in any order that suits. It fixes one, and a step taken out of turn changes the answer. This is the order the engine follows, and the order every line of the result reports.

  1. The Rate

    The table the measure falls in gives a rate: so much per square metre for insulation, a flat amount per dwelling for a heat pump, a curve for photovoltaic power. Where the dates put the job inside an elevated period, the elevated table answers instead.

  2. The Adjustments

    Interior-only insulation is reduced. A recycled mineral or certified ecological insulant adds to the rate. A bonus claimed on a position the law does not list for it is reported rather than quietly dropped.

  3. The Quantity

    The adjusted rate meets the physical fact: the square metres insulated, the kilowatts installed, the kilowatt hours stored, the dwellings in the building. This is the only division that is not exact, and it rounds half up the way a person rounds by hand.

  4. The Class Bonus

    Where the works reach a thermal insulation class the law rewards, and improve on the class before by enough, the amount is raised by the percentage set for the class reached.

  5. The Ceilings

    A share of what the work actually cost caps the amount, and a collective building has a further cap for the building as a whole. Where the installation replaces nothing, a fixed amount comes off the rate first. For a collective building the sources do not settle whether that subtraction comes before the cap or after it, so the engine subtracts first and says so on the result.

  6. The Verification Gate

    Last, and it cannot be switched off. A rule no person has yet checked against the law produces no amount at all. The line comes back empty with the rule named, and counts for nothing in the total.

    Why does the calculator show no amount?

    Because no person has yet signed off the rates. Every rule in the pack carries a verification record, and the engine refuses to put a figure against a rule whose record is still pending. Every rule ships pending, so at launch no measure produces an amount. A pending line therefore reads as pending rather than as nothing.

    Where do the rates come from?

    From the law of 24 July 2026 published in Mémorial A n° 416, read alongside the Klimabonus pages on guichet.lu. Both are linked below. No rate is typed into the code: the whole scheme is held as data, so correcting a rate, a threshold or a date is a data edit rather than a code change.

    Is a figure here an amount that would be paid?

    No. It is what the rates in the law produce for the facts entered. The Ministry decides on a complete file, and a job may qualify on these rates and still be refused on a condition this page cannot see. The list of conditions beside the result is there to make the visible ones visible.

    Does the calculator quote a figure for photovoltaic power?

    It computes one, once the rate is verified. Rule pv.amount holds the curve the law sets for an installation, with a flat €10,000.00 above the threshold the same rule names. Until that rule is checked by a person the line shows no figure at all.

    What happens to what I type?

    Nothing. There is no name field, no email field, no telephone field and no address field on this page. The calculator sends nothing anywhere and writes nothing to your browser's storage: the arithmetic runs on your own machine. The site around it counts visits without cookies, and the chat in the corner keeps its own thread in your browser until you close the tab.

    Can Cadre file the request for me?

    Filing a Klimabonus request is not a Cadre service. This page exists because the arithmetic is public, the law is published, and a homeowner or an installer should be able to see what the text provides without paying anyone for the reading.

    Nothing on this page is a decision. The aid is granted by the State on a complete file, and what the calculator shows is what the published rates produce for the facts entered, not a commitment that any amount will be paid.
